Alpine School District 2005 IOWA Test Score Results for Math

To get to the state IOWA test scores (click here). I will post ASD's scores later today after scanning the documents but below is the summary.

As you can see in the table below, every grade level in Alpine School District is below national average for computation skills. ASD is also below national average in fractions and decimals and percents. Fractions are a problem area for constructivist math programs and essential for a proper foundation in algebra (which then becomes the prime determinator for success in college). For an affluent area (far more than national averages) with such a priority on education, there's no excuse why we shouldn't be double-digits above national averages in every category. Within a few points of national average on many of these items is pitiful.

Major Breaking News...NCTM does a 180 after 17 years of destroying math in America

It must really irritate the folks at Alpine School District (ASD) who have taken to calling all my work "biased and flawed" to have such no-name disreputable organizations pandering to my lies. The legacy of ASD will be the disenfranchisement of tens of thousands of students unable to obtain a technical higher education degree.
